College students have to manage their money, while balancing needs like food and school materials with personal expenses. Some students are lucky if they receive financial help from family, but many others struggle to afford basic needs.
Food is a major expense meals, groceries, and dining out, more expenses include large electronics. Spending habits can change based on a student's living situations. Students living in apartments may spend more on groceries, while those in dorms might spend more on eating out for social reasons. Students spend less money on textbooks and school materials because of digital E-books and secondhand Books. However, personal items and social expenses, continue to be an increase in spending habits. Social media, Friend's influence, and lifestyle trends contribute to spending habits, making it clear that college students have growing financial pressures other than worrying about tuition.

Some college students may find themselves funded by parents or relatives, others struggle to afford basic necessities on top of student loans and tuition deadlines.
In my opinion, I would say that it is a privilege when students have financial help from their family. It is a nice thought to not have to worry about what you are going to eat or how you can afford school materials. However, that is not the reality for other students. I agree that some students struggle with affording basic needs. Some might have to manage working a job or two while trying to focus on their education. Students who have student loans or tuition deadlines have to worry if they can afford the following semester or what they should do to be able to do that. These students sometimes have to put their basic needs aside in order to be able to afford an education. Education is an important aspect in people's lives it creates the first steps in a person's career. While some students are able to rely on family the reality of it is that many can't and that affects the educational experience of the students.
