Hello
Hello! My name is Ariadne Martinez, and I’m a 23-year-old Mexican American and proud first-generation college student. I earned my Associate’s Degree in Business Administration (A.A.) from Union College and am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s in Business Management at Kean University.
As a full-time college student working part-time, I understand the challenges of balancing education, work, and financial responsibilities. That’s why I created this blog—to assist students like me in saving money on everyday essentials while managing the demands of college life. Whether you’re looking for budgeting tips, discount hacks, or financial advice, my goal is to share what I’ve learned to help make student life a little easier and more affordable.
Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope you find it helpful on your own college journey.

My Story
Growing up, my parents instilled in me the core values of education, hard work, and resilience. As a first-generation Mexican-American college student, I’ve encountered my fair share of hurdles, from wrestling with financial aid to juggling work and coursework.
Then came 2020—a year that turned my world upside down when I lost my dad to leukemia. His passing hit my family hard, and as the oldest sibling, I felt a responsibility to step in and support my mother and two younger brothers while keeping my educational dreams alive. This experience was a wake-up call that highlighted the necessity of financial planning and the importance of saving wherever I could. It also taught me invaluable lessons about perseverance and being financially savvy.
Navigating this challenging period, I sought creative ways to cut costs on daily essentials, manage my budget effectively, and stay focused on my college aspirations. Inspired by my journey, I decided to start this blog—not just to share my story but to create a supportive community for students who are facing similar challenges.
In honor of my dad, I’m dedicated to giving back to the Leukemia Research Foundation, a cause that holds great significance for me. I aim to raise awareness and support for everyone impacted by leukemia.
If my story resonates with you, I invite you to join me on this journey! Let’s share our experiences and uplift each other as we navigate life’s challenges together!r and uplift each other as we navigate life’s challenges together!
